“Hope in the Darkness” – When Love Speaks

When we go through moments of confusion, pain, or difficulty, we all trust in something.  As Jesus entered the darkness of death, He proclaimed a trust in His Father’s care of Jesus’ life.  Jesus’ death and resurrection took away the punishment for our wrongs and also showed how to respond in these times of darkness.  Listen to this message about how we can find strength by trusting in God the Father to find hope in the darkness as Jesus did.

Luke 23:44-47 By this time it was about noon, and darkness fell across the whole land until three o’clock. The light from the sun was gone. And suddenly, the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn down the middle. Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” And with those words he breathed his last.  When the Roman officer overseeing the execution saw what had happened, he worshiped God and said, “Surely this man was innocent (righteous).”
Matthew 7:9-11 “You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.
Psalm 33-3:4 “Sing a new song of praise to him; play skillfully on the harp, and sing with joy. For the word of the Lord holds true, and we can trust everything he does.”
Job 23:8-9 “I go east, but he is not there. I go west, but I cannot find him. I do not see him in the north, for he is hidden. I look to the south, but he is concealed.”
Job 42:5-6 “I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.  I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance.”
Matthew 27:54 “The Roman officer and the other soldiers at the crucifixion were terrified by the earthquake and all that had happened. They said, “This man truly was the Son of God!”
