Get plugged in; volunteer and serve and Mission Trails ChurchWhy is volunteering and serving so important to our church?

Matthew 5:13-161 Corinthians 12:12, Ephesians 2:8-10Ephesians 4:11-131 Peter 4:10

Jesus wants every person using their gifts – He taught that people who walk in His way are meant to use their unique gifts, passion, abilities, personality, and experiences in such a way that people will give God thanks for their service.
One gift is not more important than the other – they are just different.  Whatever gift we have, we are encouraged to use it for the benefit of others.
Local church leadership exists to equip the church family – to accomplish God’s mission of restoration.  It’s not a bunch of trained professionals doing everything in the church, but it’s about all the people of the church coming together to tell people about Jesus Christ and to serve the community in Jesus’ name and power.

How do I choose what role I have?

Currently, we need help with setup, tear down, refreshments coordination, greeting, events, and more. You can sign up for different roles by contacting Jeremy at MV@missiontrailschurch.com or by phone at (619) 786-2682. Eventually, we will develop an online sign up form to stream line the process.

How do I know what will be a good fit for me?  What if I don’t like what I’m doing?

You can always switch roles if you don’t like yours.  Some roles require more training and responsibility, so Mission Trails Church leadership is ultimately responsible for who serves and in what capacity.  We provide training opportunities so that we can help you uncover abilities that you didn’t realize you had.
